This is the monochromatic painting that I did of a photo I took of the Hogwarts castle in Harry Potter World. It was made completely with different shades, tints, and tones of purple. My favorite warm-up we did this unit was the color swatch warm-up because it taught me how to mix colors better which came in handy when I had to create the castle walls and the trees and I couldn't find the right shade.
1.) It was hard to mix paint with color swatches because you have all the right shades of primary colors in order to make them match the swatches and also you can't make a color brighter. 2.) I made the different brown swatches by mixing all the primary colors together and then making it lighter by adding white and black. 3.) I chose to paint the Hogwarts castle because I thought it would be really fun to paint all the castle details but it was a lot more work than I expected it to be. Overall, I am very satisfied with the end result of my work, it really resembles the photo I took.
